The Abide DTS is a 6-month Christian discipleship intensive centered around developing your character and strengthening the foundations of your faith.
In the midst of the everyday moments there is something powerful and beautiful that happens when we simply seek to abide in God. As we draw close to God’s heart and seek Him in each moment, we are transformed! Life with God is an invitation to a life of freedom in our identities, which leads to a natural overflow of worship and creativity.
The program consists of 13 weeks of lecture phase and 9 weeks of outreach.

Lecture Phase
Lecture phase consists of 3 months in a live/learn environment, covering a wide range of topics including Character and Nature of God, Identity in Christ, Missions, Spiritual Formation and Reconciliation.
The goal of the lecture phase is to help you mature in the skills of processing and discerning. It aims to equip you to step into deeper and more transformative faith in God. Alongside trainees from various backgrounds, you will learn about different topics regarding Christian faith. You will be invited to enter into conversations with speakers, your peers, and your DTS staff while partaking in day-to-day tasks.
On the Abide DTS we want to learn and grow together in what it looks like to abide in God, to remain in Him. When we deepen our roots in intimacy with Him, and live boldly and freely with God, we come alive to all that God is doing in our lives and what He wants to do.
Outreach Phase
At An Cuan we are committed to reaching out to those on the “outside”, embodying Christ’s love and grace in every interaction, and celebrating the beauty of diverse cultures and identities. You are invited into this when you join us for DTS - discover what it looks like to partner with God in the here and now.
The Outreach phase is the time to safely practice what you have learned, while simultaneously stepping out of your comfort zone and doing things you might have never done before. During the outreach phase, you will spend 9 weeks in one of our focus regions, partnering with local ministries and ongoing initiatives. We are not bringing God with us when we go, instead it is a time for you to partner with what God is already doing in these regions.
As a community we believe that we are far more effective when we have a commitment to ongoing relationships in our focus regions . These include Ireland, Lebanon, the Balkans, Rwanda, Burundi, Israel and Palestine, India, China and South Africa
Annie + Thiago
Meet Your School Leaders:
Thiago and Annie are a couple that have been serving in Northern Ireland at An Cuan for a few years now. Thiago is originally from Brazil and Annie is originally from the USA. They’re passionate about discipleship, worship and prayer, and love learning from different cultures!
Thiago did his DTS in 2018 here at An Cuan, afterwards returning to Brazil to help pioneer a YWAM team in his hometown for 3 years. He then felt God leading Him back to staff at An Cuan, where he’s been serving for a little over 2 years now. He has a heart for discipleship and is passionate about empowering others to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Thiago loves to cook (you’ll have to try his Brazilian and Italian food!), spend time with people, and appreciates a good cup of coffee.
Annie did her DTS in 2016 in Australia, where it sparked a love for discipleship and worship ministry. She went back home to New Jersey and was a teacher for a few years, and then began working in full-time youth ministry. After a church outreach trip to An Cuan, Annie felt God calling her into missions in Northern Ireland and joined An Cuan in 2021! Annie loves music, connecting with people, exploring different towns/cities, and also loves a good coffee.
Annie and Thiago have a heart for creating a welcoming environment for all, and are really excited for the DTS!
